Mehao Lake, a natural lake in the midst of lush green forest, forms part of the Mehao Wildlife Sanctuary which is about 17 km from Roing in Arunachal Pradesh.This natural stretch of water spans over 4 sq km and attracts a number of wild ducks. About Mehao Lake :
Mehao Lake is a natural lake of Roing and is regarded as one of the most beautiful places in Arunachal Pradesh. Located at an elevation of around 3,000 feet in the Mehao Wildlife Sanctuary, this lake is about 14 km from Roing.
Covering an area of about 4 sq km, the lake attracts numerous wild ducks and also offers boating facilities. Moreover, various geologists have declared it a Low Nutrient Lake, meaning an Oliogotropic Lake.

The absolutely clear water of the lake attracts huge number of wild ducks. The surroundings of this lake are extremely rich in flora and fauna. The water of the lake is absolutely crystal clear and a boat ride walk around the lake fills one with divine pleasure. Trekking the small pathway leading to the lake through the virgin forest is a wonderful experience.
History :
The natural lake of Mehao has gradually become a major tourist destination of Roing. The lake was formed naturally after the earthquake in the region on 15thAugust 1950.
How To Reach :
The Mehao Lake is located about 17 km from the main town and is part of Mehao wild Life sanctuary. Visitors can hire a taxi/cab to reach the attraction. It is advisable to have a private vehicle hired and to go around the attractions as public transport may be difficult from the lake.
