Baralacha Pass in Jammu & Kashmir

It is in Lahaul valley, 73 kms from Keylong. The name Baralacha means ‘Pass with cross roads on summit’ (Roads from Ladakh, Spiti and Lahaul join on the top of it). There is no road yet from Spiti, only a path exists. This pass is also an origin of Chandra, Bhaga and Yamuna rivers. They flow to three different directions, through the Chandra, Bhaga and Lingti valleys.

Zangla Monastery in Leh-Ladakh Jammu & Kashmir

Karsha Monastery in Jammu & kashmir

Karsha monastery is the largest monastery of Zanskar. The complete name of Karsha monastery is ‘Karsha Chamspaling’. Karsha monastery in Zanskar is also known as Kursha monastery, Karsha Gompa and Kursha Gompa. This monastery was first founded by Phagspa Shesrab. The monastery prospered and flourished because of the hard work of Dorje Shesrab, the Teacher. Today the monastery stands fruitfully because of his efforts. In this monastery Gelukpa order was introduced by Shesrab Zangpo of Stod.
