Emerald Bay

In 1969, Emerald Bay was designated a National Natural Landmark for its brilliant panorama of mountain-building processes and glacier carved granite.The natural beauty, geology and history of this unique island make it one of the highlights of any visit to the Lake Tahoe area.The park features Vikingsholm, one of the finest examples of Scandinavian architecture in the western hemisphere and the “Tea House” on Fannette Island, the only island to be found in all of Lake Tahoe. Emerald Bay was designated an underwater state park in 1994. It is the resting place for many boats, launches and barges used in the lake before the turn of the century, during the heyday of Emerald Bay Resort and used in the construction of Vikingsholm.

Waimea Canyon

The Waimea Canyon in west Kauai is one of the most magnificent sites on the island. It was nicknamed the Grand Canyon of the Pacific by Mark Twain for a really good reason! The Waimea Canyon Kauai is the biggest found in the Pacific and visiting is one of the top things to do. The first look into Waimea Canyon is dramatic and impressive. It may leave you reeling as you witness the plunging rock faces on all sides and realize just how deep it is. Measuring one mile wide, ten miles long and close to 4,000-feet deep, the unfolding scene is breathtaking.

Everglades National Park

Everglades National Park is situated on the southern tip of the Florida Peninsula. The park is bounded by the Gulf of Mexico to the west, the Tamiami Trail and mostly state lands to the north and the Florida Keys to the south and south-east. It includes most of Florida Bay. The biosphere reserve includes Dry Tortugas National Park, a group of seven coral reefs and surrounding shoals, coral reefs and waters.

Golden Gate Bridge

The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate, linking San Francisco with Marin County. Completed in 1937, it held the record for the world’s longest suspension bridge span at 4,200 feet. Its distinctive orange vermilion color, officially known as international orange, was chosen for visibility in fog and harmony with the surroundings. Rising 746 feet, its towers surpass the height of the Washington Monument. The bridge has five lanes and towers that taper from base to top, emphasizing their 500-foot height above the roadway. Coit Tower, another San Francisco landmark, shares the city skyline with the Golden Gate Bridge, which sees 118,000 vehicles daily, alongside pedestrian and bicycle traffic.
