This temple has several impressive towers and mandapams (halls with ornamented pillars). The Golden Hall with the Golden image of Nataraja the cosmic dancer (Shiva) is noted for its great beauty. Ten pillars have carvings of the various manifestations of Shiva. The roof has a series of stone chains.

The foot print scar of Kamadenu the divine cow is visible on the head of Shivalinga in the temple. There is a tamarind tree in front of the temple known as Piravapuli meaning that its seeds will not germinate wherever sown. There will be no worms in the cow dung in the surrounding area.
